Glamor Muscle Thursday

Today's workout was P90X Arms and Shoulders. AKA the "glamor muscles". This one hour Tony Horton workout cycles through 5 sets of exercises. Each set contains an exercise that targets the biceps, triceps, and shoulders. Each exercise in the set is completed two times. This means that two sets of 15 different exercises will be completed during this workout. For the majority of the exercises, it is recommended that 8-12 reps be completed. I found this workout to be somewhat challenging but the intensity of this program is really determined by the amount of weight that you select for each exercise. Overall, I find this workout is worth doing and I would suggest it to anyone specifically looking to target their biceps, triceps, and shoulders.

Here is a list of the exercises in this workout:

Alternating Shoulder Press
In & Out Bicep Curls
Two-arm Tricep Kickbacks
Deep Swimmer’s Press
Full Supination Concentration Curls
Chair Dips
Upright Row
Static Arm Curls
Flip-Grip Twist Tricep Kickbacks
Two-angle Shoulder Flyes
Crouching Cohen Curls
Lying-down Tricep Extensions
In & Out Straight-arm Shoulder Flyes
Congdon Curls
Side Tri-Rises

I also completed the P90X Ab Ripper X workout. This 20 minute, ab targeted, workout I found to be very challenging and was unable to keep up or complete some of the exercises. My abs are definitely sore after finishing this workout. Hopefully this means that it works. I believe, through repetition, I will be able to complete all the exercises in this workout in the future.

Here is a list of the exercises in this workout:

In & Out
Seated Bicycle
Seated Crunchy Frog
Wide Leg Sit-ups
Fifer Scissor
Hip Rock n' Raise
Pulse Up
Roll-up/V-up Combo
Oblique V-up
Leg Climb
Mason Twist

What I consumed today:

1 cup coffee with 3 creamers (30 calories each)
1 banana
1 Greek yogurt
salad (Kale, Tuna, Cheese, Carrot, Light Ranch)
whole wheat pasta w/sauce mozerella cheese and kale
1 whey protein shake
2 tablets of amplified Creatine 189 (Creatine Hydrochloride)

Welcome

I am completely new to blogging. I saw some other fitspo blogs which motivated me to create my own to track my own progress and hopefully inspire others. Firstly, let me introduce myself. I live in SoCal and turned 29 years old over last weekend. I have always been naturally skinny and what I consider myself to be in moderate shape. With 30 approaching I decided to start to become serious about getting really fit. I recently started taking kickboxing classes mixed in with doing P90X. My goal for this blog is to track my progress and post recipes or other information/motivational material. I am open to suggestions from anyone to improve this blog. Feel free to contribute!

Thanks for reading,
